Message from the BOG chairman
NEP Technical Training Institute was established as a community-based Technical Secondary school in 1983.The aim was to offer technical courses to Form Four leavers. Currently the college has diversified the courses to include business and applied science courses. The college is managed by a Board of Governors and the government provides lecturers in the various fields of study.
It has been noted that the expected growth in students’ enrolment at NEP TTI, and with regard to the national/global trends in education, research and technology the founders’ vision has not been realized . In line with the government’s requirement that the management of all public institutions be governed through strategic plans, the Board of Governors decided to develop a strategic plan in line with MOHEST guidelines as a road map to the future.
North Eastern Province Technical Training Institute has been in the forefront to shine in technology and thus our motto ‘Natung’ae Kiufundi’. We have tried our best to objectively re-align our core functions and objectives so that we become an integral part of the whole nation in realization of Vision 2030.
For us to be nationally and internally competitive, it was inevitable to review our strategic plan in order to place our selves strategically in the global market.
Our vision ‘to be a center for excellence in imparting knowledge and skills in the Technical, Entrepreneurial and Research in Kenya and beyond’ is our driving force to spur skills into economic competitiveness and as one of our pillars in the vision 2030.
